How It Works: Placing an Order on HurricaneShutters.com

  1. Flexible Order Options

    • You can choose to pick up your order from our factory at no additional cost or have the items shipped worldwide.
    • For smaller items like parts and components, shipping options and costs are shown online for predetermined destinations.
  2. Custom or Large Orders

    • If shipping costs aren’t displayed at checkout, it means your order includes custom or large products. These require a shipping estimate based on weight, size, shape, and destination.

    • For these orders, we contact multiple shipping companies to find the best option for your needs before charging or processing your order.

    Important: Payments for custom or large-item orders are not processed online. You will receive additional information after placing your order.

  3. After Placing a Custom or Large Order

    • Your order is sent to our design and engineering team for review. They may request additional details, like pictures or measurement confirmations.
    • Once finalized, we find the best shipping options and send you the shipping estimates along with your finalized order for approval.
    • After you approve the order and shipping, a final invoice will be sent for payment.
  4. Production & Delivery

    • Once payment is received, your product goes into production. Lead times vary based on the product type and current demand, so please check the latest lead times.
    • When your order is ready, you’ll be notified to arrange pickup or receive shipping details.

Example 1: Ordering Small Parts or Accessories

  • Order Details: Replacement screws and clips for shutters.
  • Process:
    1. Add items to your cart and proceed to checkout.
    2. Shipping options and costs are displayed automatically.
    3. Choose your preferred shipping method, complete payment, and receive an order confirmation.
    4. Your order is shipped and delivered directly to your address.

Example 2: Ordering Custom Hurricane Panels

  • Order Details: Custom-sized hurricane panels.
  • Process:
    1. Place the order online for your custom panels.
    2. No shipping cost is shown because the panels are large and custom-made.
    3. After placing the order, our team reviews it and may contact you for precise measurements or other details.
    4. We shop for the best shipping options and send you an estimate for review.
    5. After you approve the shipping cost and final order, an invoice is sent for payment.
    6. Production begins after payment, and when the panels are ready, you’ll be notified to arrange pickup or delivery.

Example 3: International Order for Rolling Shutters

  • Order Details: Rolling shutters for a property outside the U.S.
  • Process:
    1. Add the rolling shutters to your cart and proceed to checkout.
    2. If your destination is part of our predetermined shipping areas, shipping options and costs will be displayed.
    3. Select your shipping method, complete payment, and receive confirmation.
    4. Your order is processed and shipped to your international address with tracking details provided.

Example 4: Mixed Order (Small and Custom Products)

  • Order Details: Mounting hardware (small item) and custom accordion shutters (large item).
  • Process:
    1. The shipping cost for the hardware is shown at checkout, but the custom shutters require a shipping estimate.
    2. Place the order online and receive confirmation for the hardware and notification that the shutters need a shipping quote.
    3. Our team shops for the best shipping options and sends you an estimate for approval.
    4. After you approve, an invoice is sent for payment. The hardware is shipped immediately, while the custom shutters are produced and shipped when ready.

Example 5: Factory Pickup

  • Order Details: Custom storm panels with factory pickup.
  • Process:
    1. Place the order online and select "Pickup at Factory" during checkout.
    2. No shipping charges are applied, and you receive a confirmation email.
    3. After production is complete, you are notified that your order is ready for pickup.
    4. Visit our facility to pick up your items at your convenience.
